Conferences

The BACCHUS Network™ staff plans four exceptional national conferences annually and provides support for 12 regional conferences. The annual conferences are:

1. The General Assembly
This meeting attracts nearly 1,000 peer educators and advisors and breakout sessions focus on a variety of health and safety topics as well as leadership and motivational support.

2. The National Conference on the Social Norms Approach
This meeting attracts an average of 300 campus and community professionals and convenes the latest experts who showcase the findings from research projects on the social norms approach.

3. The National Tobacco Symposium on Young Adults
This meeting attracts an average of 200 professionals and students from campus, community and state agencies who focus on educational outreach to youth and young adult populations on tobacco control. Sessions address prevention, cessation, the latest research findings, and policy development.

4. The National Advisors Conference
This conference is designed for peer education advisors to grain knowledge in student and organization development, be current on health issues and effective strategies, and effectively promote the efforts of the group to the campus community in prevention efforts. This meeting attracts almost 300 advisors from around the country.

5. 12 Regional BACCHUS Area Conferences
Each of our 12 designated regions hosts a spring meeting for peer educators and advisors that focuses on networking and education on various health and safety issues. Attendance within the regions ranges between 80-300 participants.
