| BY-LAWS OF THE BACCHUS NETWORK

ARTICLE IX. GENERAL ASSEMBLY
Section 1. The General Assembly of BACCHUS shall be held annually at a time and place to be determined by the Board of Trustees.
Section 2. It shall be the purpose and function of the General Assembly to elect Student Trustees; to receive reports of the officers, the Board of Trustees and the Executive Director; to adopt or amend these By-Laws or other rules and regulations; to act upon recommendations, resolutions or other business presented to the convention; to offer training and interest programs for affiliates and to transact such other business as may be deemed appropriate.
Section 3. Each BACCHUS affiliate shall designate one of its members to be its delegate at the General Assembly, and may designate one or more of its members as alternate delegates, and shall give written notice to the Secretary of the identity of the delegate. If an affiliate fails to designate a delegate, it will have no vote at the General Assembly. The General Assembly shall be open to all members, but only duly accredited delegates of BACCHUS affiliates and trustees shall be entitled to vote, offer motions and resolutions, and debate.
Section 4. Time shall be allotted during the General Assembly for all areas of the network to conduct individual area business meetings, whereby each duly registered BACCHUS member shall be invited to attend. During these meetings, elections shall be held for one student to hold the position of Student Advisory Committee (SAC) member for that particular area. Student Advisory Committee members are elected to serve a one year term, beginning with the General Assembly where they are elected. The purpose of the SAC is to serve as a Committee for the Student Trustees whose responsibility is to facilitate communication between Area affiliates, Student Trustees and the National Office. The duties of the Student Advisory Committee shall include: creating quarterly newsletters, assisting Student Trustees, Area Consultants and the National Staff. Additional duties shall include contacting affiliates, encouraging communication among affiliates in their respective areas and any other duties deemed necessary. The Student Advisory Committee shall be governed by the Student Trustees in a manner which shall not be inconsistent with these By-Laws.
Section 5. The proceedings of the General Assembly shall be governed by Robert's Rules of Order. The General Assembly may adapt such other and further rules as are deemed appropriate.
